Police report (Fiscalía)

Formal complaint filed with the MP (Ministerio Público — public prosecutor) documenting the theft or loss of plates, registration card, or vehicle. Required to file a baja for a stolen vehicle and to report the loss of an out-of-state baja document.

How to get it

Go to the Fiscalía General del Estado in Puerto Vallarta: Av. Francisco Medina Ascencio at the corner of Pilaretes, Zona Hotelera. You can also file online at fiscalia.jalisco.gob.mx. You'll get the case number or report the same day.
