Tenencia (vehicle ownership tax, abolished)
Impuesto sobre Tenencia o Uso de Vehículos (ISTUV) — a vehicle ownership tax that used to be charged across Mexico. Jalisco permanently abolished it in 2012. If someone tells you to pay "tenencia" in Jalisco, they probably mean the refrendo.
