Permanent import permit (R1)
Customs document certifying the permanent import of a foreign vehicle into Mexico, with all corresponding taxes paid (VAT, duties). Without this document the vehicle cannot be registered in Jalisco.
How to get it
Issued by the customs broker (agente aduanal) at the time of import. If you lose it, ask the broker for a copy or look it up on the SAT portal. Both original and copy are required. If your import is temporary, you must regularize it with SAT first.
